Miraculous Ladybughas garnered not just dedicated young fans since its release, but a sizable older audience as well. A big part of this is just how lovable and fun-to-watch many of the characters can be, and this is especially true for the main cast. Although the minuscule progress made on either side throughout the first two seasons or so, the "love square" dynamic of Marinette, Adrien, and their superhero identities is incredibly enticing to many.

Although certain things—like how she handles her infatuation with Adrien—could be handled better, Marinette is still a great protagonist. The nature of her Lucky Charm makes every new villain encounter interesting, as they're never handled in the exact same way. Throughout the series' four seasons as of mid-2022, there's a good bit that fans might not know about her.
10 AsLadybug, She Has Access To Three Alternate Forms But They're Hardly Utilized
In the episode "Syren," Master Fu is able to translate an old spellbook that allows the Miraculous to receive new powers of transformation. These transformations typically revolve around the elements and grant Ladybug and Cat Noir access to new abilities.
Marinette has had three alternate forms in total, but they're not utilized much aside from their first appearances. In her Aqua form, she can breathe underwater and has enhanced swimming capabilities. In her Ice Form, she gets skates that allow her to better traverse ice, and she can better withstand cold temperatures. Finally, her Space Form lets her breathe in space and grants her a jet pack for easier maneuverability.
9 Counting Ladybug, Marinette Has WieldedSeven Different Miraculouses Total
The Ladybug Miraculous and its alternate forms aren't the only ones that Marinette is seen using throughout the series. As of Season 4, including the Ladybug Miraculous, she's wieldedseven different Miraculouses in total.
In addition to Ladybug, she's wielded the Miraculouses for the Cat, Mouse, Fox, Dragon, Bee, and Horse. Each one has their own unique transformation associated with them, and it's always fun to see how they'll change up her appearance, with her Lady Noire attire being a particular fan-favorite.
8 She Gains The Power To Create Magical Charms To Stop Others From Being Re-Akumatized
For those living in Paris who have already been akumatized by Hawk Moth, one might assume that this grants them immunity to future akumatizations. On the contrary, this only puts a bigger target on their backs, as Hawk Moth knows he's been able to control them once and awaits the opportunity to do so again.
That is, until the episode "Mr. Pigeon 72" where Ladybug's powers are expanded. Because she's the wielder of the Ladybug Miraculous who was born alongside the concept of creation itself, she's able to push the limits of her power and create magical charms that prevent those who have been akumatized from being turned evil once more.
7 Marinette Has Chosen Alya To Be Her Eventual Heir
Marinette and Alya have been incredibly close friends from the very beginning. She's also the only person to whom Marinette directly admits her identity as Ladybug, after breaking down over the weight of having to constantly lie and make excuses toward her friends.

Since Marinette is chosen to be the new holder of the Guardian Box, a ton of new responsibility is thrust upon her shoulders, and it's imperative she plans for the future in case something happens to her. Marinette actually chooses Alya to be her eventual successor and the person who will inherit the Guardian Box after her.
6 Despite Being A Sweet, Honest Hero, She's Abused Her Powers As Ladybug
Marinette is described as being honest, kind, and fair in both her civilian and superhero forms. However, there have been instances where she's known to abuse her powers as Ladybug.
This is really only seen when she feels like her crush on Adrien is being threatened by someone else. This is best seen with Lila, who attempts to lie to Adrien and tell her that she's a super-close friend of Ladybug—only for the transformed Marinette to appear and begin berating her. While it isn't cool for Lila to lie, Ladybug also goes too far and likely wouldn't have done the same if Adrien wasn't involved.
5 Her Superhero Identity Prevents Her From Being Able To Involve Herself In Romantic Relationships
Occasionally whenever Cat Noir flirts with Ladybug, she shoots back with the fact that they can't be involving themselves in romance due to their double lives. For several seasons, this doesn't feel like much more than an excuse.
That is, until Marinette is actually seen attempting to date Luka in Season 4. Things fall apart because Luka loathes liars, and Marinette is unable to be honest with him about why she keeps disappearing for long periods of time during their dates. He understandably starts to fear that she's cheating on him, and it causes her to realize that as long as Shadow Moth is active and she has overwhelming responsibilities as Ladybug, she can't date.
4 She Is Working On A Website To Be Able To Show Off Her Fashion Designs
Marinette's fashion designing skills are noted to be exceptional. Audrey Bourgeois, Chloe's mother, is heralded as the Queen Of Fashion, and even she notes that she hasn't seen a designer as talented as Marinette since Gabriel Agreste.
Despite this talent, she's initially shown to be very insecure when it comes to showing off her work to others. Thankfully, as of "Reflekdoll," Marinette seems to have mostly gotten over this as she's shown working on a website where she can show off her designs with more people.
3 Her Yo-Yo Has Many Versatile Uses Other Than Simply Summoning Her Lucky Charm
As Ladybug, Marinette's yo-yo allows her use of her Lucky Charm, as well as being the tool that lets her de-evilize akumatized villains. However, it has many other uses besides this, for movement, offense, and even defense.

She's been shown using her yo-yo as a grappling hook, as well as to restrain villains. It can be used as a projectile and even as a slicer to cut through solid materials, though not nearly as strong as Cat Noir's Cataclysm. She can even use it as a shield if it's spun fast enough, and it can even help her breathe underwater.

1 Marinette Admits That If She Wasn't Infatuated With Adrien, She Might Give Cat Noir A Chance
The show itself isn't the only animated content out there forMiraculous Ladybug. There are also webisodes that go more in-depth into characters and their feelings on certain subjects.
In the webisode "Cat Noir as seen by Marinette," Marinette admits that she is aware of Cat Noir's feelings towards her.
